Our method is perfect for beginners who have never taken part in this process before, and also great for experts who have had many websites created in the past. Don't let the process scare you! We are here every step of the way to guide you through it and answer any questions.
The first step in having a website is a consultation. A consultation is a meeting where we decide what your business needs for a website. We discuss how things work, what you will need to do, show you a contract, and give you pricing. If after the consultation you decide you do not want a website, this is totally fine; we understand that this process may not be right for everyone. Consultations are 100% free, so you have nothing to lose. If you DO decide you would like to work with us, you will then sign a contract, be assigned your client information, and proceed to the next step.
After we have decided what type of website your business needs, we will then start to plan. The initial phase of drafting a design will involve gathering some examples of existing marketing material so we can provide you with a web presence that ties in with your existing company image. If you require new original material, or you would like to custom design your website with your material, we can work together to create an all-in-one package to fit your requirements.
After you have decided what you want your website to be and we have all the necessary information, we will start to design and develop your website. Depending on the tyep of project, this process could take anywhere from one week, to three months. After the initial design is complete, we will ask you for your input, and make modifications as necessary. Then comes the content...
If your website is static, meaning it is just a few pages of content that does not change, we will add content (either you can write it or we will). If your website is dynamic, meaning it is interactive and users can do things such as post messages or login and buy items, we will develop the user interface and add content. Dynamic websites also include a testing period in which you will explore the site and perform as many actions as you can to ensure that everything is setup correctly.
This is your final step. After all of the above has been completed, we will submit the content to an editing company. They will correct any grammar or spelling changes that need to be made, and also suggest better wording or help write content. After they have reviewed all content, we will publish your site to the live servers. Hosting is included in most of our web design packages, but if you wish to host elsewhere, then we will either a)publish the website to your hosting provider for you, or b)give you the website on a disc for you to publish yourself. As part of this last step, we will also create a detailed 30 – 60 page specifications document for all our dynamic web projects (if required).
